On Friday 2 October, members of the Manchester Consular Association joined the Lord Mayor of Manchester, Councillor Shaukat Ali, for a reception in the Lord Mayor's Suite at Central Library to mark 100 years since the Association presented the Lord Mayor's Badge to the City.
The badge has been worn by Manchester's Lord Mayors for a hundred years. It stands for the long relationship between the city and the consular community, and for Manchester's place as an international city.
Our thanks to the Lord Mayor for hosting us, and to everyone who came to celebrate this milestone with us.
